STAR Academy field trips are a hands-on learning experience in emerging technologies.

Expose your students to cool technologies and careers of tomorrow at STAR Academy. Each trip shows students new ways technology can be used and applies in the real world.

Each trip is a scheduled 2-hour visit to our 16,000 square foot facility in Timonium.

Our Field Trip Programs

Emerging Technologies in the Workplace

A hands-on experience in robotics, drones, virtual reality and technologies that are changing our world for students in grades 3 – 8.

Field Trip Includes:
• Flying and programming drone flights
• A robotic challenge using VEX IQ
• Demonstration and experience in virtual reality
• 3D scanning and printing process explained
• Activities on technology and its impact on the workplace

Through this trip students will achieve success through:
• A deeper understanding of engineering
• The importance of data collection and recording
• Awareness of how technologies are changing the world and careers

Geometry in the Sky and Ground

Program a robot through a maze! Fly a drone through a course! Students explore angles and geometry through programming drone flights, and automating robot paths.

This 2-hour trip is a combination of classroom learning, hands-on experience and exposure to technologies that are changing the world.

The curriculum for our field trips has been written by an experienced teacher, and curriculum writer. They are supervised by certified educators, and experienced coaches in their field.
